Geotab has added the Drivewyze PreClear weigh station bypass service to its Geotab Marketplace, the company announced at its Geotab Connect 2020 event.
Drivewyze provides weigh station bypass service to more than 800 sites in 47 states and provinces, according to the company.
“Not needing to stop or slow down at weigh stations helps fleets save fuel and maximize on-duty drive time,” said Brian Heath, president of Drivewyze. “We are excited to join the Geotab Marketplace with a driver-centric, single sign-on integration that gives drivers full access to our service network."
Geotab noted that weigh stations and roadside inspection sites provide the critical function of ensuring trucks are compliant with size, weight, and safety standards set by commercial vehicle enforcement agencies throughout North America.
Requiring trucks to stop, however, can increase freight costs through decreased driver and fleet productivity, while putting a potential burden on roadside commercial vehicle enforcement stations, Geotab added.
