ATLANTA --- In the wake of a deadly bus crash near Atlanta earlier this month, Georgia transportation officials announced plans to add safety features to several commuter-lane exits. The Georgia Department of Transportation will add signs and reflective stripping to seven ramps, beginning this week. On March 2, seven people died when a bus, which was carrying baseball players from Bluffton University in Ohio, plunged off an overpass. The bus driver is believed to have mistaken one of the commuter-lane exit ramps for a lane. The bus crossed through a T-intersection at the top of the ramp and then charged over the retaining wall of the overpass to the interstate highway 30 feet below. The driver and his wife, along with five baseball players, died in the crash. According to a report in the Los Angeles Times, the National Transportation Safety Board is still investigating the accident.
