The average price of gasoline remained steady despite a pipeline disruption in the southeastern U.S., according to AAA. The national average remained at $2.21 per gallon. The average per gallon price is 8 cents less year-over-year, according to AAA data. 

Pump prices were higher in some states due to the leak in the Colonial Pipeline in Alabama. Line 1 operations have resumed after more than a week of downtime. Affected states have seen the largest weekly increases, including Alabama (8 cents), South Carolina (7 cents), North Carolina (5 cents), and Georgia (3 cents).

States in the Great Lakes region are beginning to see prices decrease as Line 1 resumes supply. Lower prices included Ohio (10 cents), Indiana (8 cents), and Michigan (7 cents).

Average gas prices are below $2 in five states, including Texas ($1.95), Arkansas ($1.97), Mississippi ($1.99), Louisiana ($1.99), and New Jersey ($1.99).
