The national average price of gasoline climbed 3.5 cents to $3.479 per gallon, climbing higher for the fifth consecutive week, according to federal data.
Gasoline remains lower than it was a year ago, but has seen a steady advance since Feb. 3, when it was $3.292 per gallon, according to data released Monday by the U.S. Energy Information Administration. The current price is 28 cents lower than a year ago.
