Forward Thinking Incorporates Distracted Driving Technology

Forward Thinking System will incorporate Cellcontrol's distracted driving technology to reduce the use of mobile devices by commercial vehicle drivers, the company announced at the Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville, Ky.

Cellcontrol will provide technology that disables multiple mobile devices as soon as a vehicle moves. Small, mid-sized and Fortune 50 fleets now use Cellcontrol's technology.

The technology is offered as an extension of Forward Thinking System's fleet management solution that provides electronic Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administrator complaint log books, International Fuel Tax Agreement reporting, driver behavior analysis, dispatch, engine information, and advanced tracking.

The technology provided by Cellcontrol works in tandem with Forward Thinking System's integrated platform and enables customers to effectively keep drivers from using their mobile phones while a vehicle is in motion with a patented signaling system.

Customers can choose from two Cellcontrol hardware product lines including a legacy vehicle databus connected Trigger or DriveID — the new windshield-mounted, cable-free device that identifies the driver and allows passengers to talk, text, e-mail or browse.
