Fleet Response Accepts Ice Bucket Challenge
More than 50 Fleet Response employees participated in the Ice Bucket Challenge for the ALS Association's Northern Ohio Chapter on Aug. 21.

The ALS Association's Northern Ohio Chapter challenged Fleet Response to complete the Ice Bucket Challenge, and on Thursday, Aug. 21 the company accepted. More than 50 employees participated, and passed along the challenge to a few of their local partner vendors including the Alpha Group, Finkler and Company, CPA's & LetterNine, Inc.
The cause hits very close to home for the Cleveland-based fleet management company. Former Fleet Response employee, 34-year-old Megan Coyle Rivera, lost her battle with ALS on April 18, less than two years from her diagnosis. Megan worked at Fleet Response as a business development coordinator for almost three years before being diagnosed with ALS.
Participating in the Ice Bucket Challenge is something that Fleet Response was honored to do, said Jeff Fender, Fleet Response vice president of sales and marketing. "We have already been in the process of putting a team together for the Cleveland Walk to Defeat ALS in September at Progressive Field in memory of Megan, and the Ice Bucket Challenge is a really fun way to kick off the fundraising and awareness for this great cause," he said.
"Megan meant a lot to everyone that worked with her," said Scott Mawaka, chairman and CEO. "Participating in both the ALS walk and the Ice Bucket Challenge is a great way for our employees to continue to remember and honor Megan, while helping to support the fight to treat and cure ALS. We're honored to be a part of the fight."
Fleet Response now counts just over 100 employees.
