Fleet Forward Conference to Debut First Registration-Based Analysis of Largest Commercial Fleets
The session will deliver an exclusive first look at registration data covering more than 1.5 million commercial vehicles, offering one of the industry's most detailed views of the private fleet market.

Attendees will see how the data challenges common assumptions about commercial fleets and establishes new benchmarks that organizations can use to compare their own operations against broader market trends.

For decades, fleet managers have relied on surveys, self-reported fleet counts, and industry anecdotes to understand the commercial fleet landscape. At the 2026 Fleet Forward Conference, attendees will gain a different perspective — one grounded in actual vehicle registrations.
The conference will open with "The State of Commercial Fleets: A Registration-Based Market Analysis," an exclusive presentation from Automotive Fleet and Mobility Global (formerly S&P Global Mobility) that examines more than 1.5 million commercial vehicles operated by the largest private fleets in the U.S.
Based on Fleet 500 Data
The analysis is based on the registration data behind Automotive Fleet's newly launched Fleet 500, developed in collaboration with Mobility Global.
Rather than simply ranking fleets by size, the research examines what the registrations reveal about today's commercial fleet market, including vehicle composition, electrification, hybrid adoption, truck populations, executive fleets, industry segments, and emerging market trends.
Attendees will also see how the data challenges common assumptions about commercial fleets and establishes new benchmarks that organizations can use to compare their own operations against broader market trends.
"The fleet industry has never had this level of registration-based visibility into the commercial fleet market," said Chris Brown, associate publisher of Automotive Fleet. "Instead of relying on estimates or survey responses, we're looking at what vehicles are actually registered and what those registrations reveal about how commercial fleets are evolving."
The session will be presented by Nicholas O'Neil of Mobility Global and Chris Brown of Automotive Fleet. Together, they will explain not only what the data shows, but why the findings matter for fleet planning, procurement, lifecycle strategies, and technology adoption.
Fleet Forward Conference takes place Oct. 20-22 in the Washington, D.C., area, bringing together fleet leaders, technology providers, and industry experts to explore the trends shaping the future of fleet management. Register here.
