NAFA Fleet Management Association has announced the educational program for its 2026 Fleet Safety Symposium, which will be held Oct. 19 in National Harbor, Maryland.
Co-located with the Fleet Forward Conference, the one-day certificate program is designed for corporate and government fleet professionals and will include educational sessions on fleet safety metrics, policy development, safety technology, driver engagement, communication, training and safety culture.
"Safety isn't a single initiative, it's a mindset that touches every aspect of fleet operations," said Bill Schankel, CAE, CEO of NAFA. "The Fleet Safety Symposium is designed to give fleet professionals practical strategies they can implement while creating opportunities to learn from industry experts and peers."
Featured sessions include:
- How is Safety Measured?, covering key performance indicators used to evaluate fleet safety.
- Safety Technology and Positioning Safety Technology, examining telematics, driver monitoring systems and technology integration.
- Safety Culture, focusing on organizational approaches to improving fleet safety.
- Communication Between Company and Driver, discussing strategies for driver communication and compliance.
Attendees will earn eight hours of Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credit toward CAFM recertification and receive a digital Fleet Safety Guidebook, study guide and online certificate exam. Those who successfully complete the exam will receive a Fleet Safety certificate.
The symposium will conclude with the presentation of NAFA's inaugural Fleet Safety Awards, recognizing commercial and government fleet organizations for their safety programs.
Fleet Safety Symposium attendees will also receive a $200 discount on registration for the Fleet Forward Conference, which takes place Oct. 20-22 in National Harbor.
Early bird registration for the Fleet Safety Symposium is available through Sept. 25.
Additional information, the full agenda and registration details are available on the NAFA website.
