Fleet Europe Presents Industry Awards for 2018

Fleet Europe honored several fleet managers, suppliers, and start-ups for their achievements in the global fleet industry during an award ceremony at the recent Fleet Europe Summit in Barcelona, Spain, Nov. 26 to 28, 2018.

Fleet Europe honored several fleet managers, suppliers, and start-ups for their achievements in the global fleet industry during an award ceremony at the recent Fleet Europe Summit in Barcelona, Spain, Nov. 26 to 28, 2018.

The winner of the European Fleet Manager of the Year award was awarded to Heiko Groesch, manager fleet EMEA, Goodyear Dunlop Tyres, according to Fleet Europe. Groesch was awarded in part for implementing a strict policy focusing on process and cost optimization, partly through a multi-bidding approach. Goodyear Dunlop operates a global fleet of 6,508 vehicles, according to Fleet Europe.

Luxottica received the International Fleet Mobility award, which is given to a company for implementing a green project or an initiative in efficient alternative mobility solutions. Laura Gobbis (right), travel and fleet procurement manager, Luxottica, accepted the award on behalf of the company. Ralf Kostrewa, head of Volkswagen Group Fleet Sales International, presented the award.

Luxottica received the International Fleet Mobility award, which is given to a company for implementing a green project or an initiative in efficient alternative mobility solutions. The company was honored for its centralized approach for a 2,000-strong global fleet operating across various continents and in which mobility solutions are becoming increasingly relevant, Fleet Europe reported. Laura Gobbis, Travel and Fleet Procurement Manager, Luxottica, accepted the award on behalf of the company.

The International Fleet Safety Award was presented to Ingersoll Rand, for the introduction of its annual 100 Days of Safety program that increases driver safety awareness through various initiatives. Christine Siroux, travel and fleet manager, EMEA of Ingersoll Rand, accepted the award on behalf of the company.

IBM was honored with the International Fleet Innovation Award for its approach in fleet management process efficiency and cost monitoring, according to Fleet Europe. Ferenc Hegedus, global category lead, car lease, rental and ground transportation, of IBM, accepted the award on the company’s behalf.

The International Car Remarketing Award was awarded to BCA with 1Europe Transport, which was represented by Bertrand De Techtermann, EU operations director for the company.

The International Fleet Industry award was presented to three winners: Athlon in first place for ChangeMyCar; LeasePlan in second for its LeasePlan Electric Program; and third place went to ALD with ALD Car Sharing.

The Smart Mobility Start-Up of the Year award was also given out to three recipients: Fixico by Amar Gupta, VP Sales and Strategic Alliances, AutoFacets; AppyParking in second place; and in third place was Bestmile by Stuart Donnelly, senior director group international sales Northern Europe and USA, Sixt SE.
