ExxonMobil Introduces New Fleet Card Program
ExxonMobil on Oct. 19, 2001 announced the development of the new ExxonMobil Fleet Card Program. The program offers greater control over drivers’ expenses, rebates on fuel purchases, and discounts on business-related products and services. Customized reports track driver spending and fuel use and can also help keep tabs on vehicle efficiency. Fleet managers will also have 24-hour-a-day access to their accounts with the introduction of ExxonMobil Fleet Online later this year. The new program offers rebates of up to 3.5 percent on fuel purchases. It includes discounts on products and services from companies such as Penske Auto Centers and Penske Truck Leasing, National Car Rental, Choice Hotels International, and Airborne Express. Cards can also be linked to the Speedpass payment system in which users wave a transponder in front of the pump and the fuel transaction is charged to the designated card. The card is accepted at more than 16,000 locations nationwide. The ExxonMobil Fleet Card is issued and credit extended by General Electric Capital Corp.
