Chrysler Recalls Over 1 Million Vehicles for Potential Rearview Camera Issue

Chrysler is recalling a number of vehicle models due to a problem with the radio software that may prevent the rearview image from displaying, raising the risk of a crash. That's according to National Highway Traffic Safety Administration documents.
The recalled vehicles include the following models:
2021-2022 Dodge Durango
2021-2023 Chrysler Pacifica
2022 Ram 1500, 2500, 3500
2022-2023 Ram Promaster
2021-2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L
2022-2023 Jeep Compass, Grand Cherokee, Wagoneer, Grand Wagoneer
A Stellantis spokesperson confirmed with Automotive Fleet that the remedy will come either via an over-the-air software update or an update through the dealer. Customers are asked to follow the instructions on their recall notice.
Reuters reported that the software has already been updated in more than 735,000 vehicles.
Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed August 2, 2024.
The automaker is unaware of any crashes or injuries related to the issue.
