General Motors has discontinued the Chevrolet City Express compact van, the company has confirmed with a note on its website.
For commercial and other fleet buyers interested in the vehicle, Chevrolet will offer its Express full-size cargo van or Colorado midsize pickup, according to the update.
Chevrolet will not offer the City Express after the 2018 model year. Dealers and fleets can no longer place orders for the vehicle. The 2018 City Express retailed for at least $22,855.
The City Express, which is sourced from Nissan as a lightly modified NV200, has struggled against the competition since its arrival in the smaller van segment. In 2017, Chevrolet sold 8,348 units, while Nissan sold 18,602 NV200s. Ford sold 34,473 Transit Connect vans and Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles sold 15,584 ProMaster City vans.
Chevrolet introduced the City Express in late 2014 for the 2015 model year through an agreement between GM and Nissan announced in 2013.
