Driving and Performance
Assembled at the Tsutsumi Plant in Aichi, Japan, the 2027 Corolla Hatchback sits on the TNGA-C platform. The platform includes a low center of gravity and MacPherson strut front and multi-link rear suspensions.
Under the hood, the Corolla Hatchback is powered by a 2.0-liter Dynamic Force four-cylinder DOHC 16-valve engine. Equipped with Dual Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i), it produces 169 horsepower and 151 pound-feet of torque. The Corolla Hatchback has manufacturer-estimated fuel economy ratings of 32 mpg city, 41 mpg highway and 35 mpg combined on the SE.
The Corolla Hatchback features a standard Dynamic Shift continuously variable transmission (CVT) with a physical launch gear for initial acceleration before transitioning to the CVT pulley system. All grades come standard with paddle shifters that allow drivers to select from 10 pre-set ratios.
Drivers can select from NORMAL, ECO and SPORT drive modes.
Exterior
The Corolla Hatchback features a rounded body with character lines and three-dimensional design elements. It is available with 16- or 18-inch alloy wheels, including newly available Toyota Genuine accessory 18-inch gloss white alloy wheels.
LED headlamps extend into the front fenders. LED taillamps feature a diffusing inner lens. The XSE includes LED fog lights with chrome-finished bezels.
Exterior color options include Blueprint, Inferno, Inked, Classic Silver Metallic, Finish Line Red, Magnetic Gray Metallic, Wind Chill Pearl and Ice Cap. Two-tone black roof combinations are available with Blueprint, Classic Silver Metallic, Finish Line Red, Magnetic Gray Metallic and Wind Chill Pearl.
Interior
Inside, the Corolla Hatchback includes fabric or SofTex-trimmed seating depending on grade. The SE comes with a standard 6-way adjustable fabric driver's seat and a 4-way adjustable front passenger seat. The XSE includes a standard SofTex-trimmed 8-way power-adjustable driver's seat and a heated 4-way adjustable front passenger seat.
Newly available Toyota Genuine accessory 18-inch gloss white alloy wheels require separate purchase of 225/40R18 tires for SE grade.
Multimedia and Connectivity
Technology and convenience features include Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 standard across all grades, along with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.
The 2027 Corolla Hatchback comes standard with an 8-inch touchscreen featuring Toyota Audio Multimedia, dual Bluetooth phone connectivity and a six-speaker audio system.
Five-year trials of Safety Connect, Service Connect and Remote Connect are included, along with a 30-day/3 GB trial of Wi-Fi Connect. Additional services, including Drive Connect, may be available depending on grade.
