TORRANCE, CA – Biodiesel may be one potential solution for fleets looking to go greener — possibly even overnight. Several fleets that have been successful using the renewable alternative fuel in their operations will be sharing their strategies at the 2012 Green Fleet Conference in Schaumburg, Ill.
Attendees will hear from fleets including the City of Irving, Texas, and Cook County Schools, servicing the Chicago area. Fleet managers will discuss their experiences with switching to biodiesel, and what impact it has had on their fleets and communities.
The session, “Biodiesel: The Easy Way to Green Your Fleet,” will take place Oct. 3 from 3:05 p.m.-4 p.m. during the conference.
Samantha Bingham, Clean Cities coordinator for Chicago, will moderate the session, with panelists including Ramiro Lopez, director of Public Works Team for the City of Irving, Texas; Don Scott, director of sustainability for the National Biodiesel Board*; and John Benish, Jr., president and chief operating officer of Cook-Illinois Corporation.
The 2012 Green Fleet Conference will be held Oct. 2-3, 2012 at the Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center Hotel. Keynote speeches will be delivered by John Davis, producer/host/creator of MotorWeek, and Mitch Jackson, vice president of environmental affairs and sustainability for FedEx Corporation.
More than 550 fleet professionals attended the event in 2011. Click here to see photos from last year’s conference.
* The National Biodiesel Board will also be exhibiting at the Green Fleet Conference & Expo (Booth #500).
