BMW has been developing a way to compress hydrogen at ultra-low temperatures in increase storage volume as part of a partnership with Toyota Motor Corp. that ends in 2020, reports Reuters.
The BMW vehicle would use as a base a fuel stack developed by Toyota for its Mirai fuel cell sedan that went on sale Oct. 21.
While the Mirai can travel just over 300 miles, the BMW vehicle would likely exceed that range with the compressed hydrogen system that will take a few more years to perfect.
