"Cindy Rowe's excellent service delivery and high brand recognition made it attractive to us," said Tom Feeney, Belron US president and CEO. "We feel the acquisition is fully aligned to our goal to become the 'natural choice' for vehicle glass repair and replacement services in the U.S."

The acquisition was announced in August 2008 and the deal closed December 31.

A team of Belron US associates led by John Sadler, Belron US vice president of warehouse operations, will work closely with the Cindy Rowe Auto Glass management team to formulate integration plans that are expected to be implemented over the next six to nine months.

"Our company recognizes the strength and value of the Cindy Rowe brand name," added Feeney. "We will work with the Cindy Rowe team to learn more about the brand's history and strategy before we determine our final plan. Until that time, it is business as usual and no brands will change."

Founded in 1980 by registered nurse Cindy Rowe, Cindy Rowe Auto Glass has grown from the windshield repair operation that started in the trunk of her Chevrolet Vega to a Harrisburg, PA-based company with 12 store locations and 76 employees serving close to 50,000 customers each year.

Cindy Rowe and Dave Taylor, chief operating officer, plan to remain involved for the next three years as consultants for Belron US.

Belron US, a subsidiary of Belron SA, is a multi-faceted vehicle glass and claims management service organization based in Columbus, OH.
