Postgraduate psychology students at Queensland University of Technology (QUT) are studying the organization factors that influence work-related driving behavior and are asking Australian fleet managers for their help.
According to the researchers, Heidi Mangan, Laclan Jolley, and Alicia Long, work-related driving crashes are the most common cause of death, injury or absenteeism, in Australia and in many other countries. While there has been research suggesting organizational factors can impact work safety, there is little researching that has examined thse variables within a work driving safety context. The QUT research is aimed to to investigate what organizational factors impact employee driving safety behavior.
