Electric cars and buses would be zipping around the streets of Cairns, Australia, under a plan to overhaul the city’s transport infrastructure, according to a report by the Cairns Post.

Mayoral candidate Jim Brooks unveiled Connect Cairns’ transport policy, which continued on his team’s plan to transition Cairns to a carbon neutral city.

Brooks said that while cars would always be part of the future, electric cars had less impact on the environment.
