The growth of telematics solutions in the Australasia region is influenced by a number of different drivers including regulatory developments related to health and safety regulations, chain of responsibility legislation and road user charges.
The largest fleet management solution provider in Australia and New Zealand is Teletrac Navman, which has more than 100,000 units active in the regions. This is followed by Verizon Connect in second, then EROAD and MTData. Netstar is the fifth largest provider, and has reached more than 40,000.
Meanwhile, several OEMs which have introduced fleet telematics solutions for their commercial vehicles in the region, either independently or through partnerships include Isuzu, Volvo Trucks, UD Trucks, Scania, PACCAR, Toyota, Hino, Mercedes-Benz and Mitsubishi.
