WASHINGTON – The Propane Education & Research Council (PERC) and Alternative Fuels Trade Alliance have scheduled a free training workshop in Trenton, N.J., for transportation professionals interested in learning more about propane autogas and other alternative fuels.

The workshop is scheduled for 8 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. on June 1 at the Trenton Marriott Downtown. The New Jersey Clean Cities Coalition and the Greater Philadelphia Clean Cities Coalition will host the seminar. Vehicles fueled by propane autogas and other alternative fuels will also be on display.

 “Fleets play a major role in alternative fuel adoption,” said Brian Feehan, vice president of PERC. “Choosing a domestically produced, cleaner-burning fuel like propane autogas means a greener environment and less dependence on imported oil for all Americans, both now and in the future.”

 The Trenton workshop will conclude a nationwide series of 14 training seminars throughout 2010 and 2011, developed with a $1.6 million grant from the Department of Energy. More than 700 fleet managers have been trained at these events. In addition to propane, fuels covered in the workshop include ethanol, biodiesel and compressed natural gas.
