AlertDriving Forms Strategic Partnership in Colombia

AlertDriving has announced a new strategic partnership with Colombia’s Como Manejo, a provider of integrated road safety solutions. Using various diagnostic strategies to target accidents, Como Manejo, an AlertDriving ADvantage partner, can now help fleets train to assess and mitigate at-risk drivers with FleetDefense, the world’s most extensive driver safety program, according to the companies.
Como Manejo said it has helped fleets across Colombia discover safer, more sustainable ways of doing business simply by asking one question — which is also the company’s name — “How’s your driving?”
To give an answer, Como Manejo combines the expertise of psychologists, traffic engineers, and certified driving instructors — all working to eliminate accidents through the design, implementation and monitoring of various “risk control” strategies. The process begins by assessing fleets across five safety-related categories for potential risks: inconsistent policies, bad logistics, unsafe vehicles and driver attitude are some of the factors which Como Manejo can identify, quantify and prioritize as it audits fleets for weaknesses. Next, it devises a series of targeted interventions — from driver retraining and emergency response plans to rutogramas — to mitigate the risks identified, and then works with clients to develop a monitoring plan for improvement, according to the companies.
“FleetDefense trains the way adults learn best, consistently, with local content and fully interactive video, so courses speak to drivers’ personal experience,” explained Rob Martin, vice president of Sales at AlertDriving. “Using a reaction-based algorithm, our program evaluates drivers on critical competencies that Como Manejo already emphasizes; only now, they can expand to more markets with lightning-fast delivery, all on a highly scalable, single-source platform.”
