The Association of Fleet Professionals (AFP) is tackling the twin issues of fleet mobility and reimbursement rates for electric vehicles in a series of seminars.

The independent organisation for professional fleet managers has arranged Getting Started on Your Mobility Deployment on 08 September 2021 between 0930-1045.

Moderated by AFP director Julie Summerell, the seminar will be led by Ryan Coles, business services lead at Aviva; Oz Choudhri, head of mobility solutions at Enterprise; and Ross Basnett, strategic account director at Mobilleo.

Post-pandemic, the issue of fleet mobility packages has risen up the agenda as companies adjust to hybrid working practices and carbon reduction strategies.

The following seminar will take place on 15 September between 0930-1000, entitled EV Charging - Company Payment and Reimbursements. Sessions will be led by Paul Hollick, chair of the AFP and managing director of The Miles Consultancy (TMC) and Ashley Tate, co-founder of MINA.

Reimbursement rates for electric vehicles are a real concern for fleets, since the government advisory electric rate (AER) of 4p per mile leaves many electric vehicle drivers out of pocket for their electric recharging expenses.

Commenting on the seminars, Paul Hollick said: “These are two subjects that are very high on the agenda for our members at the moment. Many are examining the possibility of introducing formal mobility strategies in the new normal, while the financial practicalities of electric vehicle operations and how to reimburse drivers for EV business mileage are also the subject of frequent discussion. We are expecting both webinars to be very popular.”
