Australasian Fleet Management Association (AfMA) and Australian energy provider Ampol have formed a corporate partnership to collaborate on events, networking, branding and research opportunities.
The AfMA-Ampol alliance will support opportunities in the transition to electric vehicles in major transport fleet organizations, according to Brent Merrick, Ampol executive general manager, international and new business.
“When we engage with our business customers, purchasing intentions for EVs remain strong, particularly among our fleet customers. Large businesses generally have developed plans to decarbonize their businesses and operations, and a shift to EVs in fleet vehicles is an obvious area to accelerate as they look to make this transition,” Merrick said.
AfMA Executive Director Mace Hartley said: “This corporate partnership will enable AfMA to amplify its initiatives across tens of thousands of SMEs [small-to mid-size enterprises], while providing its members with unique opportunities to participate in workshops and real-life trials of e-mobility and EV charging solutions.
AfMA represents 500 member organizations responsible for more than 500,000 fleet vehicles throughout Australia, New Zealand and Southeast Asia. A self-funded, not-for-profit agency, the group provides industry tools, operational, safety and green guides and a range of educational solutions across the fleet and automotive industries.
Ampol, one of the largest transport energy distributor and retailer in Australia, operates more than 1,900 Ampol-branded stations across the country, as well as in New Zealand through its subsidiary Z Energy. The company is rolling out its electric vehicle charging solution, AmpCharge.
