With the rapidly declining economic state of the nation, every cent counts. Being environmentally friendly and using biodiesel may only appear to be pennies saved here and there, but for truck fleets traveling many miles across the country, the dollars can add up over the course of a year. Now, the National Biodiesel Foundation (NBF) has upped the ante for using the alternative fuel.

The NBF unveiled the first-ever biodiesel fuel card, the BioTrucker Fuel Card last Spring. Sapp Bros. Travel Centers in Illinois, Waddy Unocal 76 in Kentucky, and Drivers Truck Stop in Texas were the first stations to offer a two-cent discount at the pump for BioTrucker Fuel Card holders.

The BioTrucker Fuel Card provides trucking companies and owner operators an easy way to pay for fuel, access cash advances, and pay for repairs and other expenses while on the road.

Benefits include:

  • No transaction fee on in-network biodiesel fuel purchases.

  • Accepted at 5,000 truck stops and truck-accessible locations.

  • Cash price on fuel — no credit price mark-up.

  • Easy payment for fuel and repairs, with itemized statements.

  • Access to tire programs, route planning software, cash, factoring, and more.

To sign up for a BioTrucker Fuel Card, go to www.biotrucker.com. Users must set up an account for a one-time, non-refundable fee of $25. Each new and replacement card costs $1.50. A $2 fee is required for each transaction made at out-of-network fuel locations. Cash advances are available for $0.50 per transaction with fuel purchase and $1.75 per transaction without. Customers must also pay a monthly $1 Fleet One membership fee.

Other optional services available with the card include a hard copy directory, temporary permits, vehicle tracking solutions, and data capture. WT
