HERNDON, VA – Audi and T-Mobile USA have teamed up to provide U.S. drivers and passengers of a number of 2012 Audi vehicles with enhanced vehicle connectivity features, from turning the vehicle into a WiFi hotspot to Sirius Traffic information. The automaker is calling this feature Audi Connect.

Available in the 2012 Audi A7, which will arrive in April, drivers will have access to real-time news, weather, and fuel prices from various providers. This service also turns the vehicle into a WiFi hotspot, giving passengers Internet access on the road. The service is available in the vehicle via a T-Mobile SIM card that is inserted into the Audi MMI Navigation Plus system. T-Mobile SIM cards will be included with the vehicle, and customers can sign up for a service plan at the time of the vehicle sale or any time during or after the six-month complimentary trial period that Audi is offering.

In addition to the 2012 Audi A7, Audi Connect will appear this summer in the 2012 Audi A8 line, the 2012 Audi A6 and the 2012 Audi Q7. Future Audi models, such as the Audi Q5 Hybrid, will also feature Audi Connect, according to the company.
