WASHINGTON, D.C. --- General Motors is recalling more than 4,500 2008 Cadillac STS and STS-V sedans to repair the tire-pressure monitoring system, Edmunds.com reported.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, a potential system malfunction could fail to alert the driver about low tire pressure and result in premature tire failure.

Cadillac dealers will correct the system free of charge.
