SPRING HILL, Tenn. --- Tennessee Gov. Phil Bredesen this week was among the state and local officials who test drove the new Saturn Vue Green Line sport utility vehicle manufactured at the General Motors plant here. According to an AP report, Gov. Bredesen noted that a lot of Americans would "love to purchase a car that's fuel efficient, in part because they're saving money on fuel, but also because they want to do the right thing and help reduce pollution." He added that the state should add more hybrids to its fleet of vehicles. The Vue Green Line delivers an estimated 20-percent improvement in fuel economy, depending on driving conditions. GM has said the vehicle is expected to deliver an EPA estimated 27 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway.
