The International Automotive Remarketers Alliance (IARA) held its all-member meeting on Feb. 23, 2003 in conjunction with CAR 2003, according to IARA president Dave Langley. Matt Marks, the group’s executive director, announced at the meeting that the IARA will investigate whether all remarketing sales conducted on the Internet are being captured by the resale guidebooks. Another issue that the IARA will be examining is the erroneous data in the various vehicle history provider databases, Marks said. A new IARA initiative currently underway is working with other industry associations to standardize remarketing terms and create an approved glossary of definitions for remarketing terms.
