Nissan's 226-mile 2019 Leaf Plus will retail for at least $37,445, including a $895 delivery fee, when it goes on sale later this month, Nissan has announced.
The Leaf Plus provides 75 additional miles of battery-electric range over the 2019 Leaf at a starting retail price that's $6,560 higher.
Nissan will offer the Leaf Plus in the three Leaf trim grades of S, SV, and SL. The vehicle is similar, except for its higher-density 62 kilowatt-hour battery pack that enables the longer range, compared to the standard Leaf's 40-kilowatt-hour battery. The Leaf Plus powertrain generates 214 horsepower.
The new powertrain also allows faster acceleration when driving at higher speeds. Nissan estimates that it's about 13% quicker.
The Leaf Plus uses a new 100-kilowatt onboard charging system that charges the vehicle more efficiently.
Pricing for the Leaf Plus SV and SL models has been set at $59,405 and $43,445 respectively. All pricing includes a $895 delivery fee.
