BMW has lengthened its X5 midsize SUV for the 2019 model year, when the vehicle will enter its fourth generation with more room for passengers and cargo, according to BMW.

The 2019 X5 increases overall length by 1.1 inches (to 194.3 inches) and wheelbase by 1.6 inches (117.1 inches). The vehicle will arrive 2.6 inches wider and 1 inch taller. The vehicles seat five.

BMW will offer two X5s, including the X5 xDrive40i and  X5 xDrive50i with standard all-wheel drive. While the base model will be powered by a 3.0-liter inline-six-cylinder (335 hp), the flagship will be equipped with a 4.4-liter V-8 (456 hp).

BMW will also offer an off-road package for the first time that adds air suspension and a rear locking differential.

Standard safety features include blind spot detection, lane departure warning,  rear collision warning, frontal collision warning, pedestrian warning with city collision mitigation, rear cross traffic alert, and speed limit information.

The 2019 X5 will go on sale in November.
