The National Women's Automotive Associates has been growing since it's inception barely two years ago, and members can now receive a regular newsletter and be informed of the group's activities.

Kaye Edelson and Carol Sommer, founders of the organization, are still active in the group, though Sommer has slowed down her participation somewhat. The Advisory Group includes Debbie Hoium of McCullagh Leasing, Barbara Papp, a fleet sales broker, Shelby Speas of Toyota, USA, Ruth Stiles, of Bob New Incorporated and Randi Warner of University Olds- mobile in Irvine, California. The group has picked March 3 as the date and the Velvet Turtle restaurant in Long Beach, California, as the place to present their annual Woman of the Year award. For 1982, there are two winners, and both are expected to be on hand for the award's ceremony.

Ilene Mann of G.D. Searle and Company of Skokie, Illinois, was nominated by her peers in the industry for her "outstanding performance and contribution in the automotive fleet business," as a letter from Ford fleet and leasing manager C.F. Miller stated. Penny Levin, supervisor of the vehicle management department at Searle, said Mann affected "positive changes which helped to add interest to the organization and increase the membership of the Chicago chapter" while she served as chairperson of that National Association of Fleet Administrators' local. Executive vice president of Searle, John Robson, said in a nominating letter that Mann has "elevated the knowledge and sensitivity of the company's senior management to the issues inherent in transportation management and the contributions a well-run program can make to overall company productivity."

Helene Winogura, of Allan Porsche- Audi in Burbank, California, is co- winner of the prize for 1982. The president of the agency stated in a nominating letter to the women's group that "in the Southern California area, she is responsible for as much as 50 percent of all lease company business in the Porsche Audi line. I don't believe that there is a woman in the Los Angeles area in the auto business that has had more to do with the success of a company than Helene has for our agency."
