Nissan Executive Changes Aim for More Truck Sales

Nissan has consolidated its commercial vehicle sales efforts under Fred Diaz as it prepares to launch the Titan XD and other truck products to target "key opportunity areas," the company has announced.

Nissan has consolidated its commercial vehicle sales efforts under Fred Diaz as it prepares to launch the Titan XD and other truck products to target "key opportunity areas," the company has announced.

Nissan named Diaz the division vice president and general manager for the North America Trucks and Light Commercial Vehicles unit. The role also expands Diaz's role to include Canada and Mexico. He had previously been senior vice president for sales, marketing, and operations for the U.S. market.

"We are now poised to capitalize on the significant investments we have made in our trucks with the launch of the all-new Nissan Titan, and these changes will support our ability to do so," said José Muñoz, a Nissan executive vice president and chairman of Nissan North America.

Diaz brings deep truck experiance to the role. He joined Nissan in April of 2013. He had been the president and chief executive officer for the Ram Truck brand.

In a related move, Michael Bunce has left his role as vice president of the Light Commercial Vehicle business unit. Bunce has been appointed vice president of product planning. He former duties will be absorbed by Diaz.

Nissan has also announced several changes to its Canada leadership, including naming Christian Meunier as senior vice president of sales, marketing, and operations for Nissan North America. Meunier was the president for Nissan Canada. Diaz will report to Meunier.

Other appointments include Judy Wheeler to vice president of sales and fleet operations; Dan Mohnke to vice president of marketing operations; and David Kershaw to vice president of dealer network development to replace Tim Gilbert, who becomes vice president of dealer network strategy.

All changes are effective Jan. 1.
