Volvo Car Group and the Embassy of Sweden on Oct. 3 hosted a seminar exploring the safety advantages of connected vehicles and the challenges the auto industry faces in bringing autonomous vehicle technology to market.
The event, held in Washington, D.C., addressed such issues as cyber security, legislation, infrastructure and environmental implications.
Volvo Cars said it considers Connected Car technologies an important part of the company’s ambition to reduce the number of auto-related fatalities and serious injuries. These technologies further support Volvo Cars’ vision that no one will be killed or seriously injured in a new Volvo car by the year 2020.
Below is a Volvo-produced video highlighting these advances.
