The 2017 Mini Countryman will enter its second generation with a starting price of $26,950 for the gasoline model, while pricing for the new gasoline-electric hybrid will be announced in 2017.
The Mini Cooper Countryman was the only small car earning a "good" rating among the latest group of 12 cars subjected to the IIHS small overlap front crash test. Five small cars, all 2014 models, drew an "acceptable" rating in the test. Two cars registered a "marginal" rating, while four scored a "poor" rating.
The Volt was the only car in its 12-vehicle test group to be named a Top Safety Pick+. But the Mini Cooper Countryman was the only car to earn a “good” overall rating.
