TORONTO --- After an 18-month wait, the ZENN (zero emissions, no noise) electric car has drawn safety approval from Transport Canada. The vehicle received the National Safety Mark, indicating it meets Canada's vehicle safety standards, CBC News reported. Ian Clifford, founder of ZENN Motor Company, said he was "pleased and surprised" to receive the safety mark after such a long wait. Earlier, he had accused Ottawa of blocking him from selling the cars in Canada. The car, which runs completely on electricity, is built in St. Jerome, Quebec.
