Zenith Motors' shuttle van has been approved by the California Air Resources Board (CARB) for the Hybrid and Zero-Emission Truck and Bus Voucher Incentive Project (HVIP), which allows California fleet buyers to receive financial assistance through dealers.
The HVIP program provides a $50,000 voucher toward the purchase of a Zenith Motors vehicle with the extended range battery pack. The purchase of three vehicles allows for an additional $10,000 for each of the three vehicles. This program will be available until the funds are exhausted, and there is $5.7 million remaining in funding.
The HVIP is designed to offset about half of the incremental additional cost of eligible hybrid and battery-electric medium- and heavy-duty vehicles using a purchase voucher. Fleets can combine this funding with additional grant funds up to the incremental cost of the vehicle. For a full list of vehicles that qualify for the HVIP, click here.
The company’s cargo van is under review by CARB.
