ASHEVILLE, NC - City of Asheville, N.C., employees turned out in late August for a green transportation fair entitled "Put on Your Green Shoes." The event was geared toward familiarizing city employees with the city's green fleet of low- and no-emission vehicles, including bikes, an electric smart vehicle, and a compressed natural gas car, as well as to learn about and sign up for alternative transit options such as carpooling, according to a city release.

The event was one in a series of workshops presented for city employees in the effort to decrease emissions in the City. Several city departments and divisions were in attendance, including the Office of Sustainability, Health Services, Fleet, and Transportation.
