Wheels, Inc. announced on Dec. 10 the appointment of Larry Buettner as its chief information officer. Jim Frank, Wheels' president and chief executive officer, said Buettner will build on the company's successful e-commerce initiatives, as well as focus on the pursuit of customer-focused systems solutions. "We believe Larry's extensive business experience and acumen, management experience, background in quality and zero-defects requirements in banking represent a perfect fit for Wheels," said Frank. Prior to joining Wheels, Buettner served as president of Anexsys, a systems integration and payments company. He has been widely recognized for his accomplishments, serving on industry boards and testifying before the U.S. House of Representatives as an expert witness. Buettner was named CIO of the Year by the Data Processing Management Association. Buettner earned bachelor's and master's degrees from St. John's University. He grew up on Long Island, N.Y., but has lived in the Chicago area since 1980. He currently resides with his family in Long Grove, Ill.
