DES PLAINES, IL - Wheels, Inc. recently introduced new business rules engine technology to its title and registration service. The new technology manages rules for jurisdictions and vehicle-specific attributes providing a foundation for processing tens of thousands of title and registration transactions resulting in clear, efficient instructions to drivers.

The new technology engine takes into account more than 1,000 specific attributes from vehicle weight, color, and engine type to the driver's county and street address. The new system allows for real time rule additions, updates and display of transaction status and activities. This coupled with Wheels' close relationships with and regular monitoring of the jurisdictions, ensures all rules are in sync and accurate.

"During development, we tested over 6,000 scenarios. We are finding more and more that jurisdictions are tying unusual items and local requirements to renewals - such as local trash bills and toll violations, which create more data to manage and scenarios to capture. It was important for us to have a system that could handle a large volume of different scenarios," said Shannon Hancock, sr. manager of Operations, Title and Registration.

The new business rules engine has enabled Wheels to enhance its personalized communication system providing dynamic output. Title and Registration communications predetermines and collects many requirements internally, only sending drivers the minimum requirements requests, if any. This streamlined process not only limits the driver's involvement with the local jurisdictions but in the entire title and registration process.
