Wheels Honors Its Top Remarketers of 2011
CHICAGO, IL - Wheels, Inc. honored its top regional auto auction facilities at an awards ceremony held in Chicago.
CHICAGO, IL – Wheels, Inc., a leader in the multi-billion-dollar fleet-management industry, honored its top regional auto auction facilities at an awards ceremony held in Chicago.
Featuring a keynote address from Wheels President and CEO Jim Frank, the Vendor Performance Awards ceremony acknowledged remarketing vendors that delivered the highest sales performance results for Wheels clients over the past year. The event also honored facilities that exhibited an exemplary commitment to improving their capabilities and performance.
“Partnering with quality vendors is absolutely critical in ensuring strong resale proceeds and an overall positive remarketing experience for our clients,” said Darrin Aiken, Wheels Assistant Vice President of Remarketing, who earlier this year was voted Consignor of the Year by remarketing industry professionals. “We have had a tremendously successful year in the resale market, and we want to take the opportunity to acknowledge some of the many auto auction vendors that have played a major part in that success.”
Wheels presented the following honorees with Outstanding Performance awards for their respective regions:
Carolina Auto Auction – Southeast Region
Manheim Central Florida – Southeast Region
Manheim New Jersey – Eastern Region
Manheim Dallas – Western Region
Manheim Milwaukee – Central Region
ADESA Toronto – Canada
Wheels also recognized the following recipient with the award for Most Improved Performance:
ADESA Cincinnati-Dayton
The Wheels remarketing network includes more than 150 carefully chosen and well-qualified vendors. In addition to traditional auction events, these vendors host Wheels Promotional Sales events, which are national auction forums target-marketed to a specific selection of dealers that have historically purchased the types of vehicles available during the event. These sales typically yield very favorable resale proceeds – last year, Promotional Sale proceeds exceeded Black Book Commercial Value Index by an average of 8% to 10% across the country.
The Wheels network also consists of various wholesale channels, including web-based competitive bid programs as well as the U.S. Open remarketing platform. Clients who wish to offer their drivers or other employees a chance to purchase vehicles coming off lease can use the WheelsDirect Program. An “upstream” remarketing tool, WheelsDirect facilitates the sale of vehicles to drivers and employees through the company’s propriety online system.
