Westport Lowers Price of CNG Bi-Fuel Conversion System to $9,500
VANCOUVER, BC – Starting with the 2013 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty pickup truck models, the Westport WiNG System will be priced at $9,500 (down from $9,750).
VANCOUVER, BC – Westport Innovations Inc. is lowering the price of its Westport WiNG Power System to help make natural gas vehicles more affordable and accessible for U.S. truck fleets.
Starting with the 2013 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty pickup truck models, the Westport WiNG System will be priced at $9,500 (down from $9,750). To achieve the reduction, Westport worked with its suppliers to lower the cost of components, while maintaining quality and performance standards, according to the company.
The Westport WiNG System is designed to travel 300 miles on compressed natural gas (CNG) alone, and 650 miles with both tanks full. Westport expects fleets to save up to $2 or more per gallon in fuel costs and demonstrate positive payback in approximately two years.
