Volvo Updates XC90 Plug-In Hybrid's Performance
Volvo's 2015 XC90 T8 plug-in hybrid model with a twin-charged 2.0-liter four-cylinder should produce 400 hp and 472 pound-feet of torque, according to updated data from Volvo.

Volvo's 2015 XC90 T8 plug-in hybrid model with a twin-charged 2.0-liter four-cylinder should produce 400 hp and 472 pound-feet of torque, according to updated data from Volvo.
Additionally, the redesigned luxury mid-size SUV will offer five driving modes, including hybrid, pure electric, power mode, all-wheel drive and save. The vehicle should achieve 59 MPGe in the U.S., according to Volvo.
The XC90 uses company’s redesigned platform knows as Scalable Product Architecture that provides the performance of a luxury SUV with the emission levels that exceed small hybrid cars.
In order to keep up with the production of the XC90, Volvo will add a third shift and 1,300 jobs at its plant in the Torslanda neighborhood of Gotheburg, Sweden in 2015.
