Volvo Safety Strategist Receives NHTSA Award
Anders Eugensson is recognized for his contributions to vehicle safety.
Anders Eugensson, director of government affairs and a key safety strategist at Volvo Car Group, has received the U.S. Government Special Award of Appreciation from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
The award was handed out May 27 during the 23rd International Technical Conference on the Enhanced Safety of Vehicles in Seoul, South Korea.
Ever since joining Volvo Cars in 1985, Eugensson has held various positions within the Volvo safety organization. His career at Volvo Cars has also included structural crash analysis using computer-aided engineering and a management position in the Volvo Cars Safety Center. He is a key member of the cross-functional safety strategy team that sets the targets and decides on the future direction of safety at Volvo Cars.
Eugensson has also been a driving force behind the Volvo Safety Vision 2020, which carries the long-term goal of creating vehicles that will not crash.
