Some 70 fleet professionals — fleet managers and representatives from fleet management companies and rental companies — gathered at Volvo’s U.S. headquarters in Mahwah, N.J. for an open house on Oct. 26.
The day started with presentations from the head of Volvo sales operations, senior manager of fleet, heads of products and safety innovations, and head of future products. After lunch, the group experienced product reviews, visited the Volvo Mobile Studio and the Volvo Technical Center, and got behind the wheel of the Volvo product line.

The event showcased Volvo’s new all-electric SUVs, EX30 and EX90. The MY-25 EX30 is available as rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, with an electric motor on each axle. Initial deliveries are scheduled for the summer of 2024. The all-new MY-24 EX90 is a three-row, seven-seat SUV that comes with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive powertrain. The EX90 showcases Volvo’s next-generation driver-assistance technology with next-generation adaptive cruise control with lane-centering and active steering assist.

The new system uses LiDAR that can detect small objects “approximately two football fields ahead in day or night, and even at highway speed,” according to Volvo. Deliveries of the EX90 will start in the first half of 2024.
“Today’s event was extremely well received,” said Tracy Herman, senior manager, commercial fleet at Volvo Car USA. “It was a great opportunity for professionals across the fleet industry to visit our headquarters and meet our people! Everyone enjoyed learning about our products — present and future — and about our commitment to grow Volvo’s commercial business.”
