Other models will be arriving through the early part of next year.
VW has updated its entire lineup during the last two years, with larger changes developing in the Atlas models in 2024. The Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport midsize SUVs are returning for the lineup in 2026.
Atlas Models Get a Major Refresh
Atlas models will offer five trims: SE, SE with Tech, Peak Edition, SEL, and SEL Premium R-line.
The Atlas Cross Sport includes SE, SE with Tech, SEL, SEL R-line stack, and SEL Premium R-line.
The SE Tech models and MY26 also have a new HomeLink mirror installed.
Updated Features on the Tiguan Model
The Tiguan model now sports a new, more powerful engine with 268 horsepower and optimal fuel efficiency. The new model also has a premium cabin and new exterior.
The 2026 trims include S, SE, SE R-Line Black and a new SEL R-Line Turbo, with the Turbo sporting a new and improved evo5 engine. All five trims host a travel assist system with assisted lane change.
Golf GTI and Golf R Updates
The 2025 hot hatches and new technology provided a good steppingstone for the 2026 models and bring a fresh look. The 2026 models will be available in S, SE and Autobahn trims.
The Golf R acts as the standard model, strictly available in Euro Style Package with a new Gray Metallic exterior option.
ID.4 Electrification Upgrades
The 2024 upgrades to the ID.4 SUV model included new systems and software and a new rear electric motor. The rear-wheel and all-wheel drive models offer an improved EPA-estimated range of 291 miles.
The 2026 trims include Entry, S, and S Plus. S Plus models include a HomeLink mirror. VW will make a mid-year model change in 2026, but details on those features will be released later. Similarly, the ID. Buzz model that debuted in 2025 will include some reimagined electric details that will also be launched later.
Jetta and Jetta GLI Revised Styling
The 2025 refresh added interior refinements and revised styling. In the 2026 model year, the rear-seat pretensioners will become standard, and the SE models will have a standard sunroof.
The SEL and GLI Autobahn models will include a new audio system with eight speakers. The GLI model will include steering wheel buttons.
TAOS Enhancements
The 2026 trims are S, SE, SE Black, and SEL. The launch will include standard equipment such as rear seat pretensioners and wireless charging. Wireless charging will be enhanced as a mid-model year change.
Like the Jetta GLI, the TAOS offers a premium audio system with eight speakers.
