Electrify America named Volkswagen’s former head of E-Mobility, Giovanni Palazoo, as the company’s new CEO where he will lead the next phases of charging infrastructure implementation.

The former CEO and president of Electify America, Mark McNabb, is leaving the organization after having led it through efforts in the diesel settlement agreements and implementation, according to Volkswagen. Palazzo, who has been with Volkswagen since 2011, has held various positions concentrating on electric mobility and infrastructure.
Electrify America was launched in 2016 to manage a $2 billion investment program that will support the increased use of zero emissions vehicle technology in the United States, according to release.
Palazzo will assume the role of CEO later this year, according to VW. Jan Vycital, CFO, Electrify America and Volkswagen Group of America, will act as the interim CEO along with his current duties.
