Volkswagen Recalls eGolf for Stalling
The recall, which got under way March 15, covers more than 5,500 electric cars in the 2015 and 2016 model years.

Volkswagen Group of America is recalling 5,561 eGolf electric cars in the 2015 and 2016 model years because of potential stalling, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The problem is tied to oversensitive diagnostics for the high-voltage battery management system, NHTSA said. A false detection of an electrical surge might result in the vehicle’s electric drive motor shutting down unexpectedly.
To fix the problem, dealers will update the battery management software. There will be no charge for this service.
The recalled vehicles were all manufactured from May 21, 2014, to March 1 of this year.
The recall got under way on March 15. Volkswagen’s number for this recall is 93B4.
