Video Captures Second Fiery Tesla S Crash

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration will continue to monitor the Tesla S, following a second crash in which the vehicle's electric lithium-ion battery caught fire.
The safety agency told Bloomberg it was aware of the Oct. 18 crash near Merida, Mexico. Photos and video captured the crash and showed the car's front end smashed by a barrier as flames consumed the vehicle.
The safety agency, which does not investigate accidents outside of the United States, said last week it found no evidence that an Oct. 1 crash on a Washington state highway was a result of any defect of violation of federal safety standards. Tesla Motors said owners in both crashed intended to purchase another Model S.
