Venturi Automobiles set a land-speed record for battery-electric vehicles this summer at the the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah, a record that was certified at the Paris Motor Show this week.
On Aug. 22, Roger Schroer recorded an average two-way speed of 212.615 mph over a flying mile while driving Venturi's Buckeye Bullet 3 (VBB-3) vehicle. The record was set in the FIA's Category A, Group Viii, Class 8 for electric vehicles weighing more than 3.5 tons. Records are governed by the Federation Internationale de l'Automobile.
