ADRIAN, MI – A Venchurs Vehicle Systems (VVS) CNG F-350 battled two unlikely candidates for fuel economy supremacy on a recent episode of Top Gear — a VW Passat TDI and a BMW 5-Series — and the results were revealing. The show, which airs on the History Channel on Tuesday nights and is produced by BBC Worldwide Productions, featured the Venchurs converted bi-fuel Ford pickup in a challenge that required hosts Tanner Foust, Rutledge Wood and Adam Ferrara to drive from Portland, Ore., to San Francisco, Calif., without stopping for fuel – hence the episode’s title, “One Tank.”
Without spoiling the end of the show, which will reair on Thursday, Sept. 13 and will also be posted on the HISTORY website, the CNG F-350 performed extremely well in the test, according to Venchurs, highlighting its long-range capabilities and the seamless transition from CNG to gasoline operation. Because of VVS Conversions’ strategic alliance with Ford Motor Company as a qualified vehicle modifier (QVM), VVS offers both CNG dedicated and bi-fuel conversions of Ford light trucks. With a supplementary upfit facility in Adrian, Mich., VVS is the only converter able to further customize these trucks to meet the needs of the customer. From suspension modifications to off-road gear and work truck accessories, Venchurs is a one-stop shop for all company fleet needs.
